Dr. Paresh R. Patel is dually a Board-Certified Gastroenterology Specialist at Kansas City Gastroenterology & Hepatology and an Internal Medicine physician. Dr. Patel has 35+ years of expertise in all areas of clinical gastroenterology and hepatology and has specialized skills in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy including biopsies of the liver and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP), a diagnostic procedure for diseases of the liver, bile ducts and pancreas. Dr. Patel is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology. In addition to patient care, Dr. Patel is involved in the residency teaching program through HCA at the Research Medical Center as an instructor for GI and liver diseases, he has also served as a clinical instructor of gastroenterology at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center. He earned his medical degree from MS University, Medical College in India. Dr. Patel completed his internal medicine residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center, where he also completed his gastroenterology fellowship. -

Janay Kissinger, APRN-BC, is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner specializing in Gastrointestinal and Liver disorders at Kansas City Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Ms. Janay Kissinger has over 30 years of expertise in all areas of clinical gastroenterology and hepatology along with many of those years conducting clinical research trials. Ms. Kissinger has completed her nurse practitioner training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1997, where she graduated with a special interest in treating adult patients with developing gastrointestinal and liver dysfunctions/disorders. Additionally, Ms. Kissinger is a published clinician, and has participated in the conduction of clinical trials under the direction of Dr. Bradley Freilich. Ms. Kissinger’s participation ranges within indications such as Severe Hepatic Impairment, NASH/MASH, Idiopathic Gastroparesis, Refractory Colorectal Cancer, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Cirrhosis, Crohn’s Disease, among other trial indications.
