Fundación de Investigación–San Juan (FDI Clinical Research) provides patients in San Juan, Puerto Rico with access to clinical trials focused on advancing new and innovative treatment options. Founded in 2002, the site brings over 20 years of experience serving the local community and is dedicated to supporting patients through every step of the research process. FDI Clinical Research conducts studies across multiple therapeutic areas, including fatty liver disease (MASH/MASLD), cirrhosis, nephropathy, psoriatic arthritis, and obesity, among others.

Among the numerous trial indications, she has led trials for top Sponsors, in all trial phases. Ranging through Metastatic Head and Neck cancer, Metastatic Urothelial Cancer, Myelodysplastic Syndromes, Colorectal Cancer, Chronic Pain related to Cancer, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Lung Cancer, among several other indications, Dr. Acosta-Rivera proves to be an expert within her specialty. -

Being a published physician, bilingual in Spanish and English, and avid presenter, Dr. Montalvo’s profile dexterity maintains the site’s scope for research opportunities at a broader scale, specifically within trial indications for CNS and Pediatrics. Early research work extends from Congenital Zika Virus to Cognitive Activities, Aging, and Mild Cognitive Impairment. -

With over 24 years of Clinical experience, 9 years of Research experience, and fluent in both Spanish and English, Dr. Ramos-Romey renders herself as a well seasoned PI, allowing her to treat a well versed population of patients from different ethnic backgrounds, and better educate our Puerto Rico communities of research benefits and new medicinal advances. Dr. Ramos-Romey has conducted research ranging through indications such as Urticaria, Asthma, Dysberic Osteonecrosis, and more. -
